Nate Oats and the Buffalo Bulls received a verbal commitment from Willie Conner of Odessa College on Wednesday according to sources.

The 6-5 shooting guard averaged 16.7 points and shot nearly 43 percent from beyond the arc at Odessa.  He shot 51.7 percent from the field and 74.6 percent from the free throw line to go along with 3.6 rebounds per game.

Conner began his career in 2013 at Florida A&M before transferring to Odessa.  He will come to UB with two years of eligibility left and is eligible immediately.

Buffalo had a verbal commitment from Maurice O’Field while Bobby Hurley was the head coach, but O’Field has re-opened his recruitment and will more than likely not attend Buffalo.  Freshman recruit Nate Navigato also asked out of hit commitment and has recently signed with Toledo.  Sophomore shooting guard Shannon Evans also transferred to Arizona State.

Oats has now signed two players since taking over in April.  David Kadiri, a 6-8 power forward from South Plains College signed with Buffalo on April 21.
